From the renowned factory Franz de Paul Schroeckenfux. This scythe-sickle is easier and safer to peen than the classical sickle. While mowing, more space is required.

Although a new scythe-sickle is labelled by the manufacturer as “Ready to mow” (mähfertig in German), it is not exactly true. Peening of the scythe-sickle is required for easy ergonomic mowing. If you opt for the “Hand-peened” choice above, you will receive a tool which is sharpened as follows: its edge has first the paint removed, its surface is subsequently machined by a water-cooled grinder for consistent thickness, and lastly hand-peened by a hammer in at least 3 passes.
